First Christmas Party of the Season

Shafer's side of the family has their big Christmas party the day after Thanksgiving every year. We all brought pizza and treats to share. Then we have the big program. The little girls put on a play every year that they write themselves, including musical numbers. Some of the cousins sang and played guitar. This year Granny Woolf sang Families Can Be Together Forever, then had her children join the second time, then the grandchildren, then the great grandchildren. It was very sweet.

After the program is the White Elephant gift exchange. Shafer and I were lucky enough to be last in line to open our gifts, so we got to choose what we wanted from the already opened gifts. We ended up with a little 3D wooden puzzle that Shafer stayed up until 1am solving, and I got some Gatorade treats. One of my favorite gifts of the night was the turkey hat which was briefly owned by my Mother-in-law!
Granny always gets some presents for the kids who are too little to play the gift exchange. Cheeks was very pleased with his sucker and Big Boy couldn't believe his luck when he opend up his car!

Baby M enjoyed playing with Big Boy's bouncy ball, for a minute at least!

Granny also surprised us with a pinata which was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids!
After the festivities we sat around and chatted all night, it was great fun!
