Monkey's Big Day!

We had a great time on Monkey's birthday and I think he did too. Shafer kept saying how we're doing everything for us because Monkey couldn't care less! It's true, but we had fun anyway! Here's Monkey living up to his nickname climbing up the table to check out the loot!
In the morning there were presents waiting on the table and the older boys couldn't wait to tear into them, even though they weren't for them! I had found some cute toys at some yard sales over the last few weeks and we spent a whopping $10 on gifts. He got several toys, books, and a new outfit to wear for the big day! Here's the brothers 'helping' open presents!
We headed up to the Farmington Festival Days Parade in the morning. My parents, grandparents, and sister were there waiting for us. The first time a group marched by throwing candy Big Boy wasn't sure what to do. But, by the end he had a bag full of candy, some frisbees, some otter pops, and even a couple Webkinz! We called him the candy man the rest of the day!
After the parade we went to the little carnival thing they have set up and had lunch. I met up with one of my best friends from the old days. It was fun to catch up a bit and introduce our kids!
We tried unsuccessfully to get the boys to ride the train or go into the petting zoo. They say they want to, then chicken out at the last second! Here they are watching the train go by.

Here's Big Boy petting the goats over the fence, I guess he likes the added sense of security!

After the fair we went to my parent's house and Monkey opened some more presents and we had some cupcakes.
It was a really great day! It was fun to remember what was happening last year at this time and how excited we were to have another little boy in the family!
On Sunday some of Shafer's family came over and we celebrated again. It was a great weekend, thanks everyone who helped make it special!
