We have furniture!

After almost 7 years of renting it had become the norm to NEVER buy anything furniture or decorating related. We had what we needed to get by with and that was fine. Besides, we didn't want to buy some big piece that would end up not working in our future home.
Now that we have a home of our own to do with as we please we went a little crazy in our first purchases. Alright, it wasn't that crazy, we've been looking and doing research for 2 months. But, we did end up buying more than we planned on our first buying day!
Here is the before of our front room. This is the reason we needed furniture. Here is the after. It's not super exciting seeing as how we've owned those couches for 6 years. But, it's the new arrangement.

And, here is the after. This is the sectional couch we've been debating about forever. We finally caved and bought it after finding no other couches that came close to what we wanted in our price range. We are now very glad we did because we LOVE it! We also bought the green IKEA chair and it's been great!

And now I bring you the impulse buy of the century:

We had absolutely zero plans to buy a bed frame in the near future, maybe a year or so down the road, but not now. Enter IKEA and a screaming deal that could not be overlooked. They were discontinuing this color of bed and it was priced at $229!!!! How can you pass that up? We talked to the sales clerk about it and she mentioned that there were also matching nightstands on sale for $25 each. SOLD! We usually behave in the exact opposite of how this transaction went down, but this deal was too good to pass up! Besides, when Shafer gets in a spending mood (almost never) I gotta take advantage! :)

So, there you have it, we are now furnished! Yay!
