Shafer was a on a deadline to get the basement finished before the baby arrived so we could move Puppy out of the baby's room and move Big Boy and Cheeks into the basement. On the day the dry wall guys showed up the boys were home from school. So, I sent them outside to play with Puppy's new water table he got from his birthday. They turned on the hose and started playing. Pretty soon one of the guys yelled up the stairs to have me come down and there was a giant puddle forming in the basement directly under where the faucet is outside. Apparently the pipe had cracked over the winter and this was the first time we'd turned the water on! We decided it was a tender mercy since if we'd waited even a few hours to play with this toy the drywall would have been up in that room and it would have been ruined! As it was we were able to call a plumber who was able to come replace it that day and we moved on with the dry wall!
Here's Big Boy playing in one of his final games this season. He's always where the action is. (He's in the middle).
Cheeks on the other hand usually looked more like this picture. This was the one time he played goalie. He enjoyed soccer, but he was not really into the games. Although, once he got that trophy at the end of the season he was talking up how much he loved it!
Imagine my surprise when Big Boy came home from the Father Son campout looking like this!
My sweet Mom came on Mother's Day weekend to plant my garden. Isn't she the best?!! She sat me down in the shade with my garden plans and got the boys to come help her plant our two garden boxes. My belly was just too big at this point to be able to do it!
Speaking of my big belly, here it is:
We enjoyed Memorial Day in Farmington. We decorated some graves and had a BBQ.
Monkey got to celebrate his birthday early at school since he's got a summer bday.
The carpet came and the basement felt complete! There was still a lot of finishing work to be done, and a man-cave TV and surround sound to install. But, that didn't keep the boys from doing summersaults all over the place!
It's a whole new world down there now!!
All 3 of my school boys earned the school's bear cub award. They have to complete certain requirements throughout the year to get them. They all worked hard and I'm proud of my boys!!
