Like all of you we have had many parties to attend this Christmas season. We've loved getting together with both sides of the family. It's fun to see those we don't get to see as often.
We just had the party for my side of the family this week. We had a lovely dinner and a little program after where the kids got to sing or play the piano. The kids had a blast with their cousins and eating as many candy canes as possible!
For Shafer's side of the family we had two parties, one for his Mom's side and one for his Dad's side. His parent's were in charge of this party and we had a fun time eating pizza and doing a white elephant exchange. I decided to use the 'funny' picture. It seems like you always do a 'funny' pose and then you never use the picture for anything, so I'm using it!!
For his Mom's side we did a fun 'progressive' dinner where you start out at one table with assigned seats for appetizers. We played a game, then found a number on the back of our chair with our next table assignment for the salad course where we played another game. Then the next courses followed in the same way. It was such a fun idea and a way for us to get to talk to some at the party that we might not have otherwise. Shafer's sister, Abby, had planned the same type of party for her ward and we got to benefit, it was SO FUN!!!
We've also had other various ward and friend parties to attend this season and it's been a lot of fun! I love having the chance to spend time with those we love celebrating the birth of our Savior!!
